"There was a pothole but it's a volcano now," a local councillor has pledged to fix the road himself at Gort Na Greine, Ballinabranna.

Cllr Andy Gladney raised the issue at this month's meeting of Bagenalstown Municipal District meeting.

"People are wrecking their cars in it and could the Council do something about it," he asked.

Speaking after the meeting, Cllr Gladney said he was going to fill it in himself over the weekend as "no one else will".
