Planning permission has been lodged for the erection of a memorial statue in Carlow.

The Kevin Barry Commemoration Committee is seeking permission for the erection of a memorial statue, the re-location of an existing monument and all ancillary works at The Green, Rathvilly, Carlow.

A decision is due from Carlow County Council on April 27.
