Carlow can look forward to some sunny spells on Friday morning but some scattered showers could develop later.
Met Éireann forecasts moderate to fresh southwesterly winds, strong for a time along west and northwest coasts. Most areas will become dry by this afternoon, with showers slower to clear from the north. Cloud will increase through the afternoon.
While Carlow may enjoy a relatively sunny morning on Friday, things will change on Saturday.
Highest temperatures will reach 9 to 12 degrees. Many areas will be dry early tonight under mostly cloudy skies with scattered outbreaks of drizzle in Atlantic counties.
However, it will turn windier overnight with rain spreading from the southwest by dawn. Southerly winds will increase fresh to strong, becoming very strong in the southwest by morning. Lowest temperatures of 6 to 10 degrees. Windy tomorrow with strong southerly winds, easing somewhat during the afternoon.
Rain is expected in Carlow from around 5 am on Saturday, right throughout the day, turning heaviest around 7pm.
A dull or misty day is expected with outbreaks of rain, most persistent along the south coast with good dry spells elsewhere during the afternoon. Milder than normal for the time of year, with highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees.
Rain will become heavier in most places in the evening.
