It was a day to remember for the Mullins family at the Aintree Racecourse as Carlow-based trainer, Willie Mullins trained horse was rode by son, Patrick, to a Grand National win over the weekend.
Nick Rockett won the famous race as a 33-1 outsider completing an incredible story for the father-son combo.

I Am Maximus was favourite to win the race with odds of 7/1 but couldn't manage to catch Nick Rockett. I Am Maximus is also trained by Willie Mullins.
He described the win after the race taking to ITV Racing through tears as "off the charts" and "that it was the summit for me, I don't think I can get any better than this."
Comments under the video are full of support for the horse racing legend reading:
"What an interview an absolute gentleman of the sport, he’s the greatest trainer of them all!"
Another reads:
"What a man and so humble, there’s a few trainers that could learn from this great man."
