ELECTION LATEST: Breakdown from the first count of Muinebheag LEA

The first count of the Muinebheag Local Electoral Area, which saw Thomas Kinsella become the first candidate elected in the Carlow Local Elections 2024.

The first count shook up proceedings seeing Daniel Pender leap frog sitting Councillor Michael Doran for now. 

Breakdown of the first count from Bagenalstown LEA

Thomas Kinsella - FG - 1,732 - Surplus 549

Willie Quinn LAB - 1,090

Andy Gladney - SF - 1,018

Daniel Pender - FF - 986

Michael Doran - FG - 943

Arthur McDonald - FF - 819

Liam O'Brien - GRN - 295

Áine Gladney - SF - 210

Votes need for each of the candidates to reach quota
