Cloudy weather with scattered patches of mist, drizzle or light rain is expected today (January 21).
That's according to Met Éireann, which also forecasts a dry start and more persistent light rain and drizzle throughout the afternoon and evening.
Further outbreaks of rain will push in from the west later in the evening, with highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in moderate southerly winds, fresher near coasts.
Tonight is expected to be overcast with scattered outbreaks of rain extending eastwards to all areas before morning.
Lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees in mostly moderate southerly winds with mist and hill fog developing.
