Carlow Gardaí are warning members of the public about a fraudulent email in circulation.
The email is purporting to be from the Commissioner of An Garda Síochána and alleges the recipient has committed an offence.
It then prompts the recipient to make contact via email so that the matter can be dealt with and threatens arrest if they do not comply.
Gardaí assure the public the email is not genuine and ask anyone who receives it to report it to their local Garda Station.
