National Ploughing Association pays tribute to Carlow's John Treacy

The National Ploughing Association has paid tribute to one of Ireland’s leading ploughmen. 

John Tracey, a former NPA Director from Carlow, died on Sunday. 

“It is with tremendous sadness that the NPA are saying goodbye to one of Ploughing’s Greats John Tracey from Carlow. a former NPA Director, Multiple All-Ireland Winning Champion & World Ploughing Contest Medal Winner, John has created one of the best ‘Ploughing’ legacies.  May he Rest. In. Peace,” the NPA wrote on their social media. 

Mr Tracey is survived by his wife Lil, sons Michael, Eamonn, Derek and daughters Sharon and Catriona.

His funeral is due to take place on Wednesday(May 24) in Saint Lazarian's Church, Drumphea with Requiem Mass at 11am and burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
