As lambing season approaches, a busy period lies in store for sheep farmers and the local branch of An Garda Síochána has urged members of the public taking to the plains, hills and mountains for hikes and other outdoor activities, that dogs 'must be kept under control at all times'.
According to the An Garda Síochána, Kilkenny/Carlow/Waterford Facebook page, the 'best advice is always to check with the landowners and keep all dogs away from lambing ewes as they are easily distressed.'
