Proposal lodged for construction of over 80 homes and apartments in Carlow

Carlow County Council has received a planning application for the construction of a large residential development on the Browneshill Road Lower and Link Road in Chapelstown, Carlow. 

Nesselside Builders UC submitted the application which proposes the construction of 83 residential units on the site which measures 2.7Ha. Of these units, 66 will be a mixture of two and three-bedroom two-storey houses. There will also be five two-bedroom bungalows. 

Alongside the houses listed in the proposal, the application includes the construction of two two-storey apartment blocks which will contain a total of 12 two-bedroom apartments.

The plans also include the development of a new vehicular access road from Browneshill Road Lower as well as two new pedestrian access routes at the Link Road. To accommodate the new housing, 166 car parking spaces would also be provided and one bicycle storage shelter which would have 18 spaces. 

Other site works are also included in the planning application such as landscaping works, the provision of public and private open spaces, water supply and drainage, and other ancillary works.

The Council is due to make their decision by 14 May.
