A spokesperson for the Gardaí stated: “Gardaí are investigating a report of an alleged assault in Killeshin, Co Laois, on 22nd July, 2025 at approximately 5:30pm.”

Speaking to Carlow Live, a relative of the victim said: “Carlow town where we are living at the moment is getting really big.”

“If you don’t speak up it will get worse.”

The relative appealed for any witnesses of the incident to come forward to the Gardaí. While Gardaí have not issued a description of the suspect, it is understood that the male involved was of a heavy build.
