The Tinryland Christmas lights in Carlow were turned on in memory of 15-year-old Ryan Kearney yesterday.
Ryan passed away earlier this year after battling an illness for a short period of time.
The lights were turned on for the first time last night and will be turned on in Ryan's memory every evening until New Year's Eve.
Ryan's mam, dad, other family members, and friends attended the turning on of the lights last night.

In a post on Facebook, the Tinryland Christmas lights committee asked that people be mindful when visiting.
The lights are on a busy main road and people are asked not to park on it.
"Do not stop or park on the road, If you must walk on the road please do it wisely, Be considerate of our neighbours, Don't let children run freely," the post said.
It added that nobody is permitted to enter either garden for photos or for any other reason.
Donations are welcome and will be given to Cara Rescue Dogs and Oscar's Kids, which is a charity that helps families of children with serious cancer diagnoses.
