An old cottage in County Carlow is set to be demolished to make way for a new housing estate.
A planning application has been submitted which details plans to demolish Slaney Cottage in Rathvilly.
In its place, there are plans for 20 new houses of varying sizes to be constructed. They would consist of 13 three-bedroom houses and 7 four-bedroom houses.
A new road entrance, internal access road, footpaths and car parking spaces also form part of the plans for the development.
As well as that, the provision of landscaping, private open spaces, public open space and boundary treatment works will be undertaken.

In addition, bike and bin storage will be facilitated at the new housing estate.
Access to the proposed residential development would be provided through a new site access junction with N81.
The existing entrance to the site will be removed as part of the proposed development.
The application was submitted by Liam McLoughlin on January 21. A decision by Carlow County Council is expected by March 17.
