A shocking case of theft from a shop in Carlow town featured on a recent episode of RTÉ’s Crimecall.
Taking place in June 2025, CCTV footage on the programme showed a man entering the premises and making his way around the aisles, taking goods off the shelves.
He is then seen in the off-license section of the store where he continued to fill up his trolley with more items.

After this, he made his way over to the self-checkout tills, where he waited for a few moments before leaving through another till area without paying.
According to RTÉ’s Crimecall, the goods taken were valued at €1,400.
The suspect is described as being of average height and is believed to be in his late 30s or early 40s. He was wearing a black t-shirt with a white stripe on the front, along with black shorts and white trainers.
