A driver in Carlow has been arrested and faces the potential of being disqualified from driving after being caught doing almost double the speed limit.
The Roads Policing Unit in Carlow detected a driver doing 128km/h an 80km/h area.
A post on Facebook says the driver was also "overtaking other vehicles despite a continuous centre white line."
The driver was arrested and charged with dangerous driving and will now have to go to court.
If convicted, they will face a mandatory disqualification from driving and a "substantial" fine.

The charge comes following a Garda Road Safety campaign that took place across St Patrick's Day and the weekend.
The operation started at 7am on Thursday March 12th and finished at 7am on Wednesday March 18th.
After five days, there were six fatalities on the roads, bringing the total number of fatalities on Irish roads this year to 38.
Throughout the campaign, Gardaí conducted both statutory Mandatory Intoxicant Testing (MIT) and regular, high-visibility policing checkpoints.
A total of 188 people were arrested for driving under the influence of an intoxicant (alcohol and drugs) and over 4,250 drivers were detected for speeding offences.
Over 450 drivers have been detected holding a mobile phone or not wearing a seatbelt since this operation began.
An Garda Síochána is appealing to all road users to never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
