Rain and milder temperatures are to be expected today (December 18).
According to Met Éireann, scattered outbreaks of rain is forecast for most areas, possibly heavy at times in the south and west.
Highest temperatures will be between 8 to 12 degrees with fresh to strong and gusty southerly winds.
Tonight will be mild and mostly cloudy with showery rain spreading eastwards, heaviest across southern and western counties, bringing possible spot flooding.
Temperatures will not drop below 10 to 13 degrees with fresh and gusty southerly winds.
