'Mammoth' work done to clean up graffiti in Carlow Town this week
Carlow Tidy Towns shared before and after pictures on their social media to highlight the extent of the problem in the town
A major clean-up operation was underway earlier this week to remove graffiti in parts of Carlow Town.
Carlow Tidy Towns and Carlow County Council joined forces to tackle the graffiti at the Memorial at the Barrow Track Graveyard and the underpass on Carpenters Way.
Carlow Tidy Towns shared before and after pictures on their Facebook page to show the extent of the issue in the areas.
In the post, they said: "Big shout out to Carlow County Council for helping us tackle the graffiti issues around Carlow Town. We try to do the best we can, but sometimes the task at hand is much bigger than we can handle.
"Thank you to Carlow County Council for taking on this mammoth task of cleaning up the Memorial at the Barrow Track Graveyard and the underpass on Carpenters Way, it looks amazing and we appreciate you coming to our aid when we needed it the most. Thank you!!"
Carlow County Council also posted on social media to ask locals that if they witness any graffiti being done, to please report it to An Garda Síochána.
