SHOCKING: Gardaí arrest unaccompanied learner driving on national road at 177km/h

Gardaí have arrested a motorist caught driving 77km/h over the speed limit on a national road. 

The Sligo Roads Policing Unit were carrying out speed checks on the N4 when the driver was detected travelling at a whopping 177km/h. 

They were stopped and the driver was also found to be an unaccompanied learner who tested positive for cocaine. 

Court proceedings are to follow.
