Motorists are advised to be wary of falling branches as winds of up to 110km/h are expected today (August 5).
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow north west to north wind warning for Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, and all of Munster.
Possible impacts of the extreme weather includes damage to temporary structures and difficult driving conditions.
The warning is in place until 1pm today.
A further Status Yellow warning is also in place for Dublin and Wicklow, with strong east to southeast winds becoming northeast to north with 110km/h gusts strongest in coastal areas.
The warning is in place until 11am today.
A Status Yellow rain warning has also been issued for Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Longford, Louth, Meath, Westmeath, and Wicklow.
According to Met Éireann, spot flooding, poor visibility, and difficult travelling conditions can all be expected up until 11am.
