One of Ireland's newest political parties has achieved their highest rating in a Red C poll.
The latest Red C poll, which is the most frequently published and respected in Ireland, revealed Aontú currently sit on 3% approval, marking a rise of 1% since the previous one.
It also placed Sinn Féin as the most popular political party with 31% support (up 2%), followed by Fine Gael on 21% (down 1%) and Fianna Fáil on 16%.
Aontú, meaning 'unity' or 'agreement' as gaeilge, is an all-Ireland political party that was formally launched in January 2019, and operates in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
It was founded by former Sinn Féin TD Peadar Toibín under the banner of 'Life, Unity, Economic Justice'.

A party spokesperson commented on the results of the latest poll on X, stating, "People are furious with the damage the Government is doing. Many are joining Aontú to push back. This is Aontú's highest rating in a Red C poll.
"Keep the momentum. Join us."
The party plans to introduce two new candidates for the upcoming General Election at a public meeting in Galway this week.
