A woman in her 70s had to be hospitalised following an assault that occurred in broad daylight in the town of Newbridge.
When asked about the incident by the Leinster Leader, a garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí received report of an incident of assault that occurred at approximately 11.50am yesterday, Tuesday, November 7 2023 on Edward Street, Newbridge, County Kildare.
"One woman aged in her 70s was conveyed to Naas General Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained as a result of this incident."
The spokesperson added that no arrests have been made and investigations are currently ongoing.
