SIX puppies that were found dumped in a cardboard box in a graveyard, have now been rescued and named.
Rescued by the Dublin Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (DSPCA), the six puppies were approximately two months old when found and had a multitude of health complications.
Just before Storm Fergus swept the country over the weekend of December 9 last, the pups that had been abandoned all had diarrhea, potted bellies and tested positive for Parvovirus which can been fatal to infant canines.
A family who found them reported the situation to the DSPCA, who now say that the puppies are back eating and 'bright', which is a 'good sign' before they arrive to their new foster homes. They have been named Donner, Dasher, Blitzen, Vixen, Prancer and Dancer, just in time for Christmas!
"Christmas is time for giving - so please help us give them and so many others the gift of life," reads the statement issued by the DSPCA online.
