A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Dublin in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Gardai said the crash happened on the M1 motorway near junction 5 in Lusk, Co Dublin, at approximately 4am.
The male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene and no other injuries were reported.
Gardaí are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision on the M1 Northbound in Dublin.
As a result, the road is closed between Junction 4 and Junction 5 and is expected to remain closed for a number of hours.

The northbound M1 remained closed between junctions 4 and 5 on Sunday morning, with local diversions in place.
A technical examination by forensic collision investigators has been ordered.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
