Former RTÉ correspondent Charlie Bird has issued an update on his health and thanked people for their kindness as he continues his battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
"Extending the hand of friendship to everyone for the New Year," he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
"My Health has reached another crossroads," he said.
Despite now using a wheelchair, the former RTÉ journalist and broadcaster remained upbeat and said that he has a number of projects that he wants to do this year.
At the end of last year, he said he didn’t believe he would see Christmas in 2023.
"But the Love and prayers I received from across the country helped me so much," he said in a social media post.
