Irish troops deployed in Lebanon continued the long-standing tradition of supporting a Lebanese orphanage with a recent visit.
The men and women of the 123rd Infantry Battalion, who are on a six-month deployment to Lebanon as part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), received a warm welcome during a recent visit to the Tibnine Orphanage in South Lebanon.
The Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) team forged the tradition with the orphanage through the coordination and cooperation between the overseas mission and civil actors including the national population, local authorities, NGO’s and government agencies.
The troops toured the facilities and were treated to a performance by the kids. You can watch the video below:
