DANGER: Baby swaddle sleep bag bought by Irish parents could cause sudden infant death

A major safety concern has prompted a recall of various infant swaddle bags sold on the Amazon platform.

According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), parents are urged to discontinue use of the iFCOW, Yumech, Petyoung, Tiantan, Lilbestie and Momolaa brands of swaddle sleep bags immediately.

The design of the products reportedly allows a baby to slip below the covers, causing overheating and potentially airway obstruction, both of which has been associated with sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

The ASIN numbers of the affected iFCOW, Yumech and Petyoung products are B07K8JCQRX, B07VMDPJKZ, B07VMDQ9JQ, B082XNJ75J, B099PFDT7P, B099RYPXL1, B099S12CPQ, B09BJHM5KS, B09BJJ27LG, B09BJKZFK1, B09C87HC5W and B09CKR443Z.

There are over 150 affected products in the Republic of Ireland.
