Popular wall lights sold online are being recalled due to a major risk of potential injury.
According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), the AIBOO Wall Light sold on Amazon presents a risk of fire and burns.
The mains supply cord has excessive resistance which, if the product was plugged in, could lead to overheating and the cord catching fire.
This could lead to the user getting burnt from touching the plug or from debris.
The plug also does not meet the dimensional requirements of the relevant safety standard.
The model number of the affected product is HYT-1202000. Amazon ASIN numbers are B07KXLN2YP and B01LWWV58L.
The barcode and batch number for ASIN B07KXLN2YP are unknown, while the barcode for ASIN B01LWWV58L is X000RPL4FV.
According to the CCPC, there are dozens of products in the Republic of Ireland.
If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately. You may wish to contact Amazon to see if there are any remedies available to you. This can be done via your user account on Amazon.
