A man has been arrested and charged in relation to a significant drugs seizure at Dublin Airport.
As result of risk profiling, Revenue officers seized approximately 9.2 kgs of herbal cannabis during an search operation this Monday morning.
The illicit drugs, which have an estimated value of €184,000, were discovered when Revenue officers stopped and searched the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight from Barcelona.
"A man in his 20s was arrested by An Garda Síochána and has since been charged," confirmed a Revenue spokesperson who added that the suspect will be brought before the courts.
Investigations into the seizure are ongoing.
"This seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting the importation of illegal drugs. If businesses, or members of the public, have any information regarding smuggling, they can contact Revenue, in confidence, on 1800 295 295," said the spokesperson.
