Gardaí catch disqualified motorist driving car with tyres 'in extremely poor condition'

A disqualified motorist has been arrested after being caught driving a dangerously defective car.

The Tipperary Roads Policing Unit (RPU) intercepted the car earlier yesterday (Saturday May 11) after an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) alert for a disqualified driver.

Three of the driver's tyres were noted to be in "extremely poor condition", with officers deciding the car was a danger to other road users.

The vehicle was seized and the driver was arrested and charged to court.
