Met Éireann has released a Status Yellow thunderstorm waring for eight counties.
Heavy showers with thunderstorms and hail are expected in Cavan, Donegal, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Louth, Meath, and Wicklow.
Possible impacts include hazardous travelling conditions, localised flooding and poor visibility.
The warning is valid from 12pm today (Sunday May 12 to 7.30pm this evening.
