Two men have been arrested after breaking into a Dublin building that is set to house families seeking asylum.

The site at St John’s House on the High Street in Tallaght was targeted in a petrol bomb attack earlier this week. Following multiple local protests against the housing of migrants at the vacant building.

The Irish Independent reported that the Department of Integration has confirmed that the property is to be used to house families seeking asylum and protests have taken place at the building in recent days.

Gardaí confirmed that shortly after midnight this morning, two men broke into the planned refugee accommodation, and were subsequently caught.

The suspects, aged in their 40s and 30s, were taken into garda custody in Dublin.
