WATCH: UFO sightings by pilots in Irish airspace prompts hilarious exchange

A short exchange was caught between multiple pilots flying over Irish airspace, with a few confirming a rather unusual airborne sighting.

Just after midnight on Wednesday morning, multiple aircraft reported a UFO sighting over Ireland to Air Traffic Control.

According to popular online aviation journalist Shaun Dunne (Shaun's Aviation on X), the aircraft that reported the sighting was heading Northeast over the south of Ireland. "I'd presume it was in front of him, which suggests it was sighted in the northern Ireland/Scotland direction" Shaun added.

Shaun recorded a clip of the exchange, as well as a funny reply from another pilot shortly after.

Shaun reported that an aircraft (the one in the First air traffic control clip below) reported reported the sighting on the guard/emergency frequency (121.500).

The pilot in question described a bright “object” and claimed “it was there then it went”. He also told air traffic control that “it was almost like it was staying still then it went really quickly”.

Another aircraft reportedly also saw the UFO and decribed a similar view.

While reporting what he saw, one of the pilots added in amazement that “I've never seen something amazing like that before”, prompting a cheeky response from another pilot; “You obviously haven’t seen my landings”. The first pilot was quick to respond, quipping back that "you haven’t seen mine either”.

Following that exchange, all aircraft continued to their destination as usual.
