An elderly woman has been killed in a tragic two-car crash in Co Meath.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the collision near Enfield in Co Meath, which occurred shortly after 2pm this Wednesday.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a collision involving two cars on the R148.
The local coroner has been notified, and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination.
The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
An examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators has since concluded. The road has re-opened.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
