A man has been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into the fatal shooting of Cormac Berkeley at a residential driveway in Clondalkin in December 2022.
Mr Berkeley was shot a number of times in the driveway of a house in Harelawn Park after 9pm on Monday 5th December. The victim was gunned down in the neck and legs in what gardaí believe was a targeted gangland shooting.
Officers said at the time of the shooting that they believed suspect the victim, who was known to gardaí, was targeted as part of an ongoing dispute in the west Dublin area. Mr Berkeley is understood to have previously been warned of a threat to his life.
A man, aged in his 30s, was arrested this morning in connection with the shooting, and is currently detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007, at a Garda station in Dublin.
Gardaí continue to appeal to any person who may have information in relation to this incident to contact them.
"Anyone with information which may assist Gardaí in their investigation is asked to contact Lucan Garda Station on 01 6667300 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111," a garda spokesperson said.
