Gardaí arrest man and seize car in Dundalk following alert from PSNI

Gardaí have arrested a man and seized a vehicle in Dundalk, County Louth due to the unauthorised taking of a vehicle in the early hours of Saturday morning 28 September.

The PSNI alerted An Garda Síochána to the the car which had been subject to an unauthorised taking in Belfast after it had entered the jurisdiction on the N1 Southbound.

Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s after they located the car on the Newry Road in Dundalk. The man is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Louth. 

The car was seized by Gardaí and removed for technical examination. 

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
