Gardaí had a terrifying near-miss when a drink-driver almost crashed into them while in the process of arresting a speeding drug-driving learner on Thursday.
Gardaí in Crookstown, Co Cork initially stopped the speeding learner driver who was clocked doing 174km/h during a routine operation, with the driver also failing a drug test.
While arresting the driver, a drink-driver almost collided with gardaí and was also arrested.
"During a traffic enforcement operation Cork County Road Policing Unit based in Crookstown detected and arrested a learner drug driver exceeding the speed limit," gardai said in a post on Facebook.
"As this person was been arrested a drink driver nearly collided with the Gardai," they continued.
"This driver was arrested by Crookstown Gardai and charged."
