A man in his 40s has died following a fire at a house in Lucan, Co Dublin on Sunday.
The fire at the residential property in Lucan broke out just before 6am on Sunday, gardai said.
The man who died was aged in his 40s.
The scene was preserved for a technical examination, with investigations ongoing as to the cause of the fire.
Gardai warned that they were aware of commentary circulating online about the incident that contained “misinformation, disinformation and fake news”.
“Once again, An Garda Siochana appeal to the public to independently verify any information that is shared on social media and/or sent through messaging sharing apps,” gardaí said in a statement.
