Little known creepy fact about your Alexa device that you should be aware of
As most people across Ireland have an Alexa device in their home now, you should be aware of this creepy feature if there's one sitting in some part of your house.
The influencer Thiago Derminio who provides top tips on all things technology has shared a startling video on Instagram about how your Alexa is recording everything you say around the device - and not just your voice commands.
In the video uploaded by the tech guru, he instructs people on how to access these voice recordings and also how to delete them.

If you have an Alexa, you can go to your Amazon profile and view your account where you then can select 'Content and Devices.' Here, click on 'Echo' and select the one you own. In a menu to the side, click 'Privacy and Settings' and select 'Alexa Privacy' from the dropdown.

Once you click on 'View Voice History', you'll be able to hear all the recordings Alexa has saved. What is so uncomfortable for many people, is that all voices are recorded in the vicinity of the device and so conversations not directed toward the Alexa are still saved.
You can opt out of this however. To do so, just click on 'Manage Your Alexa Data' and choose how long to save the recordings. You also have the option to stop saving recordings altogether.
Of course, some people might think this isn't too big of a deal because it doesn't affect them. However, as the video points out, it might cause issues down the line if your account is hacked.
Regardless, lots of people have tried testing these steps out and felt uncomfortable hearing their own voices or their family's speaking amongst themselves unbeknownst to the fact they were being recorded.
