Based on the photo posted on X, formerly Twitter, the car appears to be a Ferrari 812 Superfast model which costs at least €330,000 to buy new.
Gardai have seized a luxury car after establishing the owner has not paid import duties on the vehicle.
In a post on social media, they say the black Ferrari, worth several hundred thousand euro, was spotted by gardai who were on routine patrol at New Street in Dublin, close to St Patrick's Cathedral.
"Our DMR Roads Policing Unit spotted this car while they were on their regular patrols in Dublin City. The car was impounded after we identified that the driver had failed to pay import duties for a significant time after bringing the car into the country," read the post.

In addition to impounding the car, gardai say the matter will also be referred to Revenue for further investigations.
"The owner may face a fine and import duties in the future," added the post which has been viewed more than 70,000 times on X.

Gardai have not disclosed the nationality of the driver or what country the vehicle was originally registered in.
