Gardai say a firearm was discharged outside a domestic residence
An investigation is underway following a shooting incident on the northside of Limerick city.
Gardaí have confirmed they are investigating the discharge of a firearm outside a residence at Hogan Avenue, Kileely late on Saturday night.
In a brief statement, a spokesperson said the alarm was raised shortly before 11pm and that gardai attended the scene a short time later.
"No injuries were reported and investigations are ongoing," they said.

While no further information has been disclosed publicly, it's understood the scene of the shooting has been examined and that enquiries are being conducted in the locality.
CCTV and any other video footage will be harvested as part of the investigation.
Any witnesses to the shooting or anyone with information is asked to come forward.
