"To Gerard, Mary Rose, Jamie, Ruth and the extended Loughnane Family, my deepest sympathy on the devasting loss of Liam.
He was such a professional and caring nurse who always made life a lot easier during our treatment. He knew all the patients, their likes and dislikes and their cares and worries. He would offer knowledge and advice and you would not realise that he was telling you what to do. He was always full of the joys of life and always full of energy. May God be as good to him as he always was to us. Rest in peace Liam".

Another message said, "A true one off, Liam was one of the most caring, energy filled nurses I’ve worked alongside, full of joy and mischief. A true loss to his family, colleagues, friends and above all patients. Taken too soon".

"Our sincere condolences to all of Liam’s family and to his partner Ruth on this devastating news of Liam’s passing. Wellston will not be the same without his presence he was a wonderful guy a wonderful nurse and a wonderful man to give down to earth advice which we took on board many the time. May the good Lord be good to him he deserves the best bed in heaven.
He is with his Mum now and may they both look after you all. May his gentle soul rest in peace Amen," another person said.

"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure."

Another tribute said: "My deepest condolences to Gerry, Jamie, Mary Rose, Ruth, Cillian, Rachel and the extended family and friends of Liam. I was shocked and saddened to hear of the sad passing of Liam (Liamy).

I was lucky enough to have worked with Liam for many summers in AllBooks. I have many memories of him just being Liam; ranging from a cheeky comment to lighten the mood, to a more in depth conversation.

Each time we met, the first thing Liam asked was ‘How is the family keeping?’ and not just the quick hello that some have become accustomed to. He went out of his way to have the chat with me, no matter where we met. He was very much like him mam Eileen and his dad Gerry in this regard, always stopped for the chat. He was so kind and sincere each time we met.

Liam, rest easy with your mam Eileen and know you’ll be remembered for the joy and happiness that you brought with you, no matter where you went. Shine bright in the heavens and look over your family and friends".
