RIP: Elderly man dies following early-morning house fire in Clare

A man, aged in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene

An elderly man has died following a house fire in Clare which broke out in the early hours of this morning, August 27. 

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of this fatal fire, which occurred at a residence in Moymore.

A man, aged in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The fire was extinguished by Clare County Fire Service and the scene is currently preserved pending a technical examination.

The local coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination is to be arranged for the deceased.
