Ardagh is recalling a specific batch of Lighter Grated Mild Red and Mozzarella cheese due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes

Consumers across the country are advised that Ardagh is recalling a specific batch of Lighter Grated Mild Red and Mozzarella cheese.

According to the public notice, issued by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI), the batch in question has been recalled due to the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes.

Consumers are being advised the recalled batch of the Ardagh Lighter Grated Mild Red and Mozzarella are the pack size of 200g with the approval number, IE 1099 EC.

The implicated batch has a best before date of 30/11/2025 (A, B, C and D).

Symptoms of Listeria monocytogenes infection can include mild flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. In rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications.     

Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale in Aldi stores as retailers are requested to remove the implicated batch from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale.  

Consumers are being advised not to eat the specified batch, which is being recalled from by Ardagh, effective immediately.
