Man dies after fatal assault in Tippperary as Gardaí launch investigation

Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the death of a man following a fatal assault in Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary, on Saturday night.

Emergency services were alerted to an incident at around 11pm on October 4th. A man was discovered unresponsive in a domestic residence and was later pronounced dead.

A woman in her 20s has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently being detained at a Garda station in Tipperary under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

The scene remains sealed off to allow for a full forensic examination. The body of the deceased remains at the location, and the Coroner has been notified. The Garda Technical Bureau and the Office of the State Pathologist have also been requested to assist with the investigation, and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.
