Carlow Fire Services dealt with 40 calls last month after 'exceptionally busy' summer

September figure for operational calls down from 116 in July

Carlow's Fire Services say calls for the year have "moderated" after an "exceptionally busy" summer period. 

The county's fire service attended 40 operational calls for the month of September, down from 44 in August and 116 in July. 

In September, the breakown of calls by station is: Carlow (19); Bagenalstown (9); Tullow (8) and Hacketstown (4).
