Warning on mobile phone scam
Carlow Gardaí are aware of bogus callers phoning people claiming to be from “Inland Revenue” and "Irish Custom and Revenue Service".
The caller informs the recipient that a review had been conducted of income tax returns and a refund of money due and requests bank details to refund the money.
Gardaí said: "This is a SCAM. DO NOT GIVE OVER BANK DETAILS over the phone. If in doubt, ring your local Revenue Office."
