A services directory for Carlow, parenting resources, a news section, a countywide events listing and a contacts section are just some of the content to be found on Carlow Parent Hub.

Carlow Parent Hub, a new website that features valuable information as an advice point for parents and families across county Carlow, was launched at an action-packed event at Fairgreen Shopping Centre, including a special broadcast by KCLR96FM.

A services directory for Carlow, parenting resources, a news section, a countywide events listing and a contacts section are just some of the content to be found on Carlow Parent Hub.

The initiative was funded and delivered by Tusla-Child and Family Agency’s Prevention, Partnership and Family Support Service (PPFS), Carlow Children and Young People’s Service Committee (CYPSC) and Carlow Child and Family Support Network (CFSN).

Similar Parent Hub websites have been developed for Tipperary and Kilkenny.

The KCLR Daily with Brian Redmond broadcast from the launch and interviewed Aisling Reade, Tusla Senior CFSN Coordinator for Carlow, about the online directory. Later in the programme, presenter Brian Redmond also interviewed foster carer Mary Mulligan and Yvonne Lowry, Regional Fostering Campaign Coordinator, about Tulsa Fostering, one of the services listed on Carlow Parent Hub.

Aisling Reade commented, “If you are seeking advice on parenting, looking for support, or information on local events, Carlow Parent Hub offers a one-stop support for parents, families and caregivers on current news and events in the area. It makes perfect sense to provide families across the county with vital information in one location. I thank our partners, St. Catherine’s CSC and Carlow Child and Family Support Network who worked with us on this initiative”.

Several of the service providers supporting Carlow Parent Hub were also at the launch, where they offered information and advice to visitors. They included: St. Catherine’s CSC; Barnardos; Forward Steps FRC Tullow; Bagenalstown FRC; Carlow Regional Youth Service; Tusla PPFS and Fostering Service; Amber Women’s Refuge and Carlow Childcare Committee.
