Over €1,200 worth of 'mindless damage' done to some of the new Tree Trail signs in Ballon
Shocking!
Over €1,200 worth of "mindless damage" has been done to some of the new Tree Trail signs in Ballon.
Ballon Improvement Group said: "Mindless damage has been done to some of our new Tree Trail signs. As you can see, our signs 2 and 3 have been completely vandalised. Sign 7 is also damaged. Sign 3 has already been replaced.
"Damages amount to over €1,200. Gardaí have been informed and are investigating."
They added: "Our committee have no option now only to install CCTV. If any member of the public has any information please contact Tullow Garda Station.
"These signs are very special and were only recently installed under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.
"Our lovely walkway in Ballon deserves better than this."
Cllr Will Paton said: "What possesses some mindless thugs to destroy the work of a hard working Tidy Towns Committee like Ballon Improvement Group.
"This can't be tolerated!"
