WATCH: Carlow will have a People Before Profit candidate in local elections next year

Carlow will have A People Before Profit candidate in the local elections next year.

Adrienne Wallace who had been People Before Profit’s candidate in the last general election, will be hoping for a seat on Carlow County Council.

In a post on Facebook, she said: "I'm really excited to announce that I have been selected as the Local Election Candidate for Carlow LEA and Stephanie Hanlon - People Before Profit Kilkenny will be the candidate for Kilkenny City LEA.

"We both have a long history of activism in our communities and want to fight for a better quality of life for us all. This means knocking down the barriers to housing and health. This means building a system based on need not greed.

"We're very excited. Here's to #Carlow, here's to #Kilkenny. Onwards and upwards!"
