'Work is continuing on this vital piece of infrastructure'

An overnight respite service for Carlow children with disabilities will be completed in early spring, according to Carlow Fine Gael TD, Pat Deering.

The facility will provide respite beds on the Castledermot Road in Tullow and was purchased early last year by the HSE but will be run by Enable Ireland.

The services will be provided at the former Patrician Brothers’ residence.

Planning permission was granted last summer and Deputy Deering said: "Work is continuing on this vital piece of infrastructure. It was purchased a year ago by the HSE and Enable Ireland will provide the service."
